Sept Military Rifle Match
On Saturday, September 2,the North Thompson Fish and Game Club held a military rifle match. The match director (me) picked a long weekend & fall fair weekend so the turnout was smaller than the last one. 6 competitors had fun on a beautiful day with not much smoke in the air. The carbine/SKS match was shot for the first time. This is shot with intermediate range calibers out to 300 meters. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A great day with good people!
On August 12 & 13 the North Thompson Fish and Game Club held the BC F-class Provincial Championships. The competitors shot 300, 500 & 700 meters. A wonderful weekend with good people! Thank you Steve Baardsen for all your help with the electronic targets. Thanks to all who helped setup & take down for the match. Thank you to all who drove from all over BC to compete. Congratulations to the winners: Cliff Goodman-F- open, Brad Traynor - FTR, and Marshal Ambrose- Lieutenant Governors award.
North Thompson Fish & Game Club held the Covid 700 F-class competition on the weekend. 8 F-open & 5 FTR shooters enjoyed the challenging winds our range is notorious for. The wind kicked my ass;
7th out of 8 shooters. Thanks to all the fellow shooters who helped with setup, tear down & other stuff! Thanks Dion for doing the stats. Congratulations to the winners! Look forward to seeing y'all at the Provincials August 12-13.
13 Annual Father’s Day Fish Derby
44 adults and 22 kids, 39 fish weighed in amount to just under 38 lbs of fish. Hidden Weight pulled at 4 pm was .68 lb. with the winner being Eva Ekins age 12 at .63 lbs. She received a grand prize of Stainless-Steel Portable Propane BBQ and needed help to carry off the stage assisted by Ben Thiesen, President of the NTF&G
Largest Girls fish was Kate-Ann Ekins at 1.14 lbs
Largest Boys fish was Mason Johnson at 1.74 lbs.
Many other prizes like oldest fisherman (82 years) and fisher person from the longest distance away (Vinsulla). Even though the weather was not toasty warm there was a great turn out and all had lots of fun and joking around. Some got cold, some got wet, but they all tried their best and come out on top of the day with enjoying a great sport.
Hope to all and more next year

Attention to all of our club members that own and shoot handguns. We need to hear from you.
We want to make it easier for you to have access to the range by designating a time for you to have uninterrupted use of the pistol range.
When would be a good time?
How many days a month would you like to have?
Do we need to have a commity to organize shoots and work crews.
We want our handgun owners/members to get more involved in the club. Remember, the current government is doing their very best to end ownership of restricted weapons. Show them that ownership is important by being active in your club.
